When are you are thirsty, uncomfortable, feeling you don’t belong? Today is your day. In today’s scripture you learn that having a relationship with Jesus will fulfill your hopes.

We probably all have a friend like this: the one who says, “Let’s talk”—and promptly proceeds to do all the talking. It’s tough to have a one-sided conversation.

To get there, he had to pass through Samaria. He came into Sychar, a Samaritan village that bordered the field Jacob had given his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was still there. Jesus, worn out by the trip, sat down at the well. It was noon.

God has chosen to save the world through the cross, through the shameful and powerless death of the crucified Messiah. If that shocking event is the revelation of the deepest truth about the character of God, then our whole way of seeing the world is turned upside down.
