The Letter to the Hebrews offers one of the most eloquent definitions of faith in scripture: “Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen.” It’s true, isn’t it?

In school, once in a while, it happened. You forgot the assignment was due and had nothing to hand in. Or you were sick on Monday and didn't know about the test on Tuesday. Or a pop quiz was thrown regarding the very chapter you failed to read. Sometimes it wasn't an academic embarrassment, but a social one.

“Don’t be afraid of missing out. You’re my dearest friends! The Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself.

The eighth-grade science teacher, like she did every year, rented the incubator, purchased the fertilized chicken eggs, taught the class about the gestation time and the proper temperature that would assure the eggs would hatch. One of her students kept asking her each day if today was the day.

Brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins, and prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
