SUNDAY SUMMARY

Sirach 3:17-18, 20, 28-29  Humility is the key that unlocks the door to wisdom, says the sage.

Psalm 68:4-5, 6-7, 10-11  If you are poor, oppressed, distressed, God has a home for you.

Hebrews 12:18-19, 22-24a  A mystical reality of hope awaits those who accept Jesus as the new covenant.

Time to shut the door on homelessness

This Sunday the psalmist reminds us that “God gives a home to the forsaken,” while Jesus encourages us to make room for the less fortunate with our hospitality: “When you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame ... .”
